Introduction RDA

Resource Description and Access (RDA) is the new cataloging code that was released in June of 2010. Attend this workshop to learn the basics of RDA. Topics will include: RDA’s relationship to FRBR (Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records) and FRAD (Functional Requirements for Authority Data), RDA’s core elements, and specific differences between AACR2 and RDA. The workshop will also include information about the online RDA Toolkit and a discussion of the timeline for the testing of RDA. Audience: Library staff with knowledge of AACR2, MARC records, and cataloging. This workshop is approved for the NLC Cataloging Certificate Program.
