New prices for Library Mail from the USPS went into effect on January 21. The new rates, which represent about a 6% increase, can be found here. The Library Mail rates are scheduled to increase again in July 2024.
In July 2023 the USPS introduced a new product line entitled USPS Ground Advantage. For libraries that need to ship heavier items in a non-time sensitive manner, but would like the items to be insured, this may be a good alternative to FedEx or UPS, as all Ground Advantage packages are automatically insured for $100 at no extra charge, with tracking included.
