Pew Report on Younger Americans’ Reading Habits

A new report from the Pew Internet & American Life Project focuses this time on the reading and library habits of Americans in the 16 – 29 age group. Highlights: 83% of those in the studied age group read a book and 60% of Americans under age 30 used the library in the past year.  About 75% read a book in print format, 19% read an e-book, and 11% listened to an audiobook. Among those who read e-books, people under the age of 30 are more likely to read them on a cell phone (41%) or a computer (55%) than on an e-book reader.
