Using del.icio.us @ your library
In several of my recent presentations I’ve mentioned del.icio.us, my favorite social bookmarking service, and asked of the librarians in attendance how many have heard of it, and how many are using it. Usually more than half have heard of it but only a handful are actually using it. Well, for those of you looking for real-life examples, I was just pointed to the Holdrege Area Library which has embedded a tag cloud of their del.icio.us bookmarks on their homepage.
Each one of the words in the cloud links you to their account and all their bookmarks associated with that keyword. The larger the word, the more bookmarks they have.
This isn’t the only way you can link your library’s Web site and del.icio.us account, but it is one with a striking visual appearance.

Did you see that Holdrege also has del.icio.us accounts for teens and kids? On their website there are a tag clouds along the right side on the Kid’s Zone and TeenSpace pages.
