Building a Mentoring Relationship Workshops offered in April in Omaha, North Platte, and Alliance
This workshop is designed for anyone interested in being a 21st Century Librarian Mentor or Mentee. Mentoring is a component of the federal grant awarded to the Nebraska Library Commission by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) to recruit and educate the next generation of Nebraska librarians. Facilitated by Library Consultant Cindi Hickey, this workshop will focus on using networking techniques to help build the relationships that help us all grow in the profession. Participants will also have the opportunity to explore the new Website, Now hiring @ your library.
The workshop sessions will be held April 23, 2007 in Omaha; April 24, 2007 in North Platte; and April 25, 2007 in Alliance.
Mentors and Mentees will meet together from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a working lunch from noon to 1 p.m. (lunch is provided). Mentors will continue to meet until 3 p.m.
For more information on the workshops and to register go to the Nebraska Library Commission’s Training Portal and search on “mentoring”.
