Throwback Thursday: Kinsey Tire and Parking Company, Display Room

Get your wheels turning this #ThrowbackThursday!

This week’s highlight is an interior view of the Kinsey Tire & Parking Company located at 1400 M Street, taken on 9/12/1946. A display unit in the center of the room holds tires, oil and other automobile parts. At the front of the room, two women and two men look at shelves of merchandise, including Scotchlite reflectors, light bulbs, blankets and pillows, and cans of Shaler Rislone.

According to Polk’s City Directory of Lincoln, 1947, Chauncey W.D. Kinsey served as President, Martin L. Quinn as Vice President, and Horace R. Hodgson as Secretary and Treasurer. Previously known as Kinsey Tire and Parking Company, Kinsey’s Inc. offered Nash cars, Mack trucks, Goodyear tires, batteries, gas, oil, storage and accessories.
