Early American West Novel Now Available on BARD!
“Heart’s Desire: The Story of a Contented Town, Certain Peculiar Citizens and Two Fortunate Lovers” by Emerson Hough is now available on cartridge and for download on BARD, the Braille and Audio Reading Download service. BARD is a service offered by the Nebraska Library Commission Talking Book and Braille Service and the National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled at the Library of Congress.
This early novel of the American West, published in 1905, tells of “Heart’s Desire,” a sleepy New Mexican town, and what happens when a scheming railroad baron and a conniving lawyer plot to bring progress and civilization to its citizens.
