Join the Nebraska OverDrive Libraries Group

If your public library has been thinking about joining the Nebraska OverDrive Libraries group, now would be a great time to act! Get your participation paperwork in by August 31, 2011 and you can begin the setup process in October, and expect patron access to begin in mid- to late-November! The Nebraska OverDrive Libraries group is currently 66 libraries strong. Collectively these libraries own and share access to 3,183 digital downloadable audiobook titles (3,378 copies) and 1,789 digital downloadable eBook titles (1,869 copies), with additional titles being added all the time! Browse the collection for yourself at http://nebraska.lib.overdrive.com/! Cost: New participants pay a one-time $500 setup fee, plus an annual participation fee that goes toward purchasing content. The annual participation fee for new participants is based on the following formula:
  • $0.13 per population served (using legal service area population), with a minimum cost of $500. (This means that libraries with a legal service area population of 3,846 or less will pay the minimum $500.)
Pricing is limited to libraries with fewer than 50,000 population served. Participation Term: October 1 through September 30. OverDrive sets up new libraries quarterly, in October, January, April, and July.  Libraries may join mid-term, but annual participation fees will not be prorated. To Place an Order: Print, fill out, and return the OverDrive Participation Form to Susan Knisely, Nebraska Library Commission, 1200 N Street, Suite 120, Lincoln, NE 68508-2023, or fax to 402-471-2083.  As soon as we receive your completed participation form we will email you a purchase agreement that you will also need to print, fill out, and return.  Order Deadline: August 31, 2011 to begin the setup process in October. To view additional information, including a list of participating libraries, go to http://nlc.nebraska.gov/overdrive. Also, please feel free to email Devra Dragos or Susan Knisely with additional questions.
