The Genealogy Quest Starts at Kearney Public Library

Books are just the Beginning at Nebraska public libraries and the Genealogy Quest program at Kearney Public Library is a good example of this.  This “study hall” for adults over 18 encourages them to use the library’s resources to help with ancestry searching. Volunteers from the Buffalo County Historical Society and library staff provide assistance when needed and point to Genealogy research resources, like the MyHeritage online database and the Nebraska Memories online collection of digitized Nebraska-related historical and cultural heritage materials (both provided through the Nebraska Library Commission to Nebraskans at no cost, with funding from the State of Nebraska and the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services.) For more information about the three Genealogy Quest “study halls,” see
